July 8, 2022 - Nose still very young, chalky, on citrus fruits and honey.
Well-calibrated effervescence.
The palate is the archetype of a 100% Chardonnay in this vintage. It's cut like a razor blade with high acidity but big substance. The juice is concentrated, with a still insolent youth, on primary aromas such as citrus fruits and chalk. Only the second part, with aromas of honey and smoke, signals a 26-year-old champagne. Nice finish, chalky and mineral on a nice length.
Excellent, a textbook champagne. -

Golden color. Developed and clean nose with brioche, citrus, butter, wax and smoke.
High acidity, fresh fruit, vegetative notes, nice minerality, sharp finish. 95p

February 21, 2020 - Påtaglig syra, högst av alla Billecart-Salmon 1996:or i en horisontalprovning. Lite blyg näsan men doft av mint, massor av citrusfrukt i munnen. Ett vin som kommer att hålla länge till.

December 25, 2018 - What a pleasure to drink this razor sharp BdB. Very mature but not yet over the top. Citrus, chalk, stone with much acidity (very '96) Like it a lot especially for its youthness. Was drunk alongside a Cuvee NF '96 which was more mature in its expression and a Salon '96 which was a masterpiece of a BdB.

June 2, 2018 - Archetypal Billecart-Salmon, like a chill Autumn breeze, so fresh and clean, easy to drink. Not especially complex but the sheer energy wins you over. Just the right age to enjoy this.
