August 20, 2022 - Vintage 2012 Tasting: thick black colour
fine dark fruit and oak fragrance
sweet ripe berries, smooth silky style, hints of chocolate and tar spice, excellent length, fine very furry tannins, has some time ahead of it
June 11, 2022 - Tannins have softened and a rubyesque plum dominates. .A lot of sediment , dencanted for 2 hours .A very pleasant experience
March 26, 2022 - Another beautiful Standish wine, perhaps not quite at the level of a recent The Relic and The Standish but has all the same hallmarks. Texture stands out as does the purity and fruit depth. More in the dark red and blue fruit spectrum, present oak, red liquorice and plums. It is full but also has a delicacy to it, very fine tannins and great length.
February 27, 2021 - Inky black to look at, dark fruits. Spices as well on the nose. Brooding wine with sediment in the glass. Aging well - could still go a few more years as mainly primary characteristics still.
June 16, 2020 - Under stated elegance. Needed to breath for about an hour to fully open, but then the tannin harshness dropped away and the silky smooth nature of great integration was left to shine. The fruit was subdued but wonderful. Will continue to improve. Can't wait for my next bottle.
June 10, 2020 - Plan. Buy more Standish. This still has time left but is already smashing. It has softened from my last tasting but I think has more to go . Fruits have blended in very well
December 31, 2019 - Rich full bodied big Barossa Shiraz. Blackberries highlight a long after taste. Drinks well now and will continue to do so for another 5+ years.
July 6, 2019 - Drinking well but feel a few more years will soften it a bit. Big wine
March 28, 2018 - Delicious Barossa shiraz. Hitting its straps. Dark brooding fruit. Firm but soft tannins. Impressive.
January 21, 2017 - A great, full body and extremely pleasant Australian shiraz. Some sediment, we decanted it two hours before - it turned out to be the right choice.
