May 17, 2018 - GMs - Aussie Classics: Leather, blackcurrant, blackberry, tobacco and graphite on the nose. Sweet fruit with a savoury streak through it. Mid-good length and the structure is holding well. This wine has been consistently very good over the last 5 years and I think you would be looking to drink now and over the next 3-4 years.

July 9, 2016 - Tasting at Lake's Folly with Peter Payard and Roger Patterson (Lake's Folly, Hunter Valley, Australia): Meaty, graphite, violet and blood form a nose with good interest. Mouth-filling fruit and tannins here, with the fruit having a extra level of depth next to the 93 reserve. Really interesting texture and a lift from good acidity across its length. This wine has been very good to great across the 3-4 bottles I've had and this was on the upper end of that scale.

July 31, 2014 - Dumplings and some nice bottles: Wow. Had a bottle of this a couple of weeks prior and this was even better. Redcurrant, bacon, strawberry and earthy - less bretty than the last bottle but still had some complexity in that style. Beautifully resolved, great length and balance. Impressive!

July 11, 2014 - 12.5% and under tasting: 12.4%. Saddle, earth, dust and meaty aromas. Good intensity on the palate, there is fine balance and poise to it. The bretty elements on the nose don't intrude on the palate. Could be more complex but this is a wine that is right in my wheelhouse and is consistently very good.
