November 27, 2022 - I shouldn’t have waited this long to open this but I didn’t expect it to fall off so quickly. This was well past it’s prime. I hope my last bottle of Arbossar is still alive…

July 4, 2020 - A bit tannic and feral on first opening but with about 30 minutes of air this really cohered into seamless, energetic, middle weight wine with lovely dark cherry fruit and that natural elegance I always find in Carignan. Refined tannins on finish. Great now with a waygu steak.

January 13, 2019 - Floral nose. Flavors of tart cherry, dried herb, a bit on the tart side. Opened up with time in the glass.Paired with a Cuban chicken dish which is marinated in Seville oranges, lime juice, garlic and olive oil. Nice wine.

March 24, 2018 - Bing cherry. Super fruit packed. Tannins have smoothed out. Good acid. Just love this. Yowza. The savory fruit is just mesmerizing

July 14, 2017 - This bottle started to show some signs of ageing. Perhaps due to bad cellaring, handling or extreme weather. Wine itself was pleasant, showing full characteristics of garnacha and cariñena. Whilst mineral notes are predominant, black fruit can be expected to emerge after breathing. Serve with meals, not a sipper in my opinion.

May 27, 2017 - Nice wine. From Magnum. Good fruit, rich, ripe, and perhaps a tad stewed. M appreciated a smooth finish and found it zinfandel-Esque . I see the arid med. landscape and primatovo / zin written all over it. big dry tannins. A crowd pleaser I suspect. Better with food.

April 15, 2017 - Sweet red fruit. Cherry, raspberry.
    Lacking earth and complexity.
Very bright, intense and young now.
Anticipating this will get better with age.
Won't open another for at least another 3 years.

January 9, 2017 - There's not too much Mazuelo in this wine and if there was it wasn't the dominate flavor. This is classic Spanish Grenacha for those you like which with good structure and plenty of leathery notes.

My personal preference is more dominant Mazuelo since there are so much Grenache based wine all over the world. When Priorat is done right the Mazuelo really shines. This wine is good but not spectacular.
