July 5, 2016 - Outrageous wine. Ultra-ripe yet bone dry. Smells like beef jerky and chocolate-covered espresso beans; tastes like mixed berry preserves, black ink, and lemon juice. Amazing. Drink now-2020.

June 28, 2015 - Imagine taking the ripest red raspberries and a handful of blueberries of similar ripeness and throwing them into a glass dish. Now pour in some brandy and blackberry juice. Bake it all for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Let it cool, and mix everything together in a blender. This is that. Drink now-2018.

November 21, 2014 - This has opened up nicely in the past six months. Juicier and more expressive. Very nice.

June 30, 2014 - Decanted 1.5 hours. Nose is very floral (violets), then blueberry and blackberry jam, crushed rocks/graphite, restrained enough to avoid being alcoholic on the nose, which is rare for a young Syrah. Palate is juicy but nicely balanced, blue and black fruit, incense, nice cool mountain mint and herbs, peppery spice, and youthful tannins on the finish. Drink now-2019.
