Community Tasting Notes 12

December 23, 2023 - Darker fruit. Early on wine had some menthol and black liquor ish on th attack. Got better over an hour or so. Enjoyable with life to go. Had the ‘10 Le Rugiens from same producer a couple months back. A bit more approachable atm.

June 17, 2023 - Young but delicious. Smoke earth fruits still dominate. Paired nicely with smoked salmon

April 16, 2023 - Needed a couple of hours to open up; nose is restrained, with some red fruits and oak. Medium acidity, tart cherries and cranberries, wet forest floor, medium tannins, medium long finish with warm spice on end. Nothing particularly exciting, but very drinkable nonetheless.

December 17, 2022 - In a rather awkward stage. Still rather firm and closed. Shows hints of red fruits with rather firm acidity. Clean palate and finish but rather simple at this point. Fine with food but best to hold. Has plenty of upside just don’t open now.
(Dang it—if I just read others notes first…)

September 1, 2022 - Hands off! This producer takes forever for the wines to come around. This will certainly get there (nose and texture improved greatly after 3 hours), but it will reward another 5+++ years
