April 9, 2023 - For a twelve year old bottle from a ripe vintage this is remarkably fresh still. Perfumed leather, bit of iron, cherry. Realizing I probably missed my chance to buy 2016 Barbi at a good price and feeling sad about it.

October 5, 2021 - Cork was dried but wine was not flawed. Drank beautifully. Half hour decant, then double decant. Drank over 2 hours. Tannins were fully integrated, silky and full bodied. On the nose, initially, herbal notes and tomato leaf. Very light nose. On the palate. Still fresh, delicious. Notes of balsamic, anise on the finish. After a while the wine opened up with light notes of cherry and orange peel. Have a 2010 of this curious to see how it compares. This is a drink now.

July 23, 2021 - Medium ruby at the core and turning garnet. Fresh and expressive aromas of sour cherry, flowers, raspberry and cranberry. Firm tannins frame a palate that showcases juicy red berries, medium acidity and very good balance. Entirely enjoyable Brunello but lacks the complexity that elevates it to a great one.

July 13, 2021 - Italian Wine Dinner with Cedar (Oceanique - Evanston IL): Fresh and dried red cherry with good brightness and energy. Medium+ weight, but finishing with good lift. Good now.

February 19, 2021 - I felt like the wine would have lost its all body and structure. Nice nose, with red fruits but the palate remained weak with some acidity.
