February 26, 2016 - Lovely. Great with the creamy seafood gratin. Obviously sweet but delicious.
August 29, 2015 - White peach and pear tones, some minerality to keep things balanced. Maria enjoyed - went well with asian spiced sea bass
May 14, 2015 - Rather big bodied Vouvray with less sweetness than expected. Very satisfying and worth getting again.
March 7, 2015 - Straw yellow color. Citrus and floral nose. Apples, lime and mineral flavors. Balanced, dry, creamy with nice acidity. Good value.
February 21, 2015 - Tasted blind. Clear, day bright, medium straw, with low tears. The nose is clean, medium in intensity, with simple, youthful apple aromas., followed by grass, white flowers, wax, honey, wet wool, wet chalk and some other funkiness. The palate is off-dry, with medium body, with ripe citrus, apple and quince and fig flavors. There is no sign of oak. The alcohol is medium, the acidity is medium (+) and balances the residual sugar nicely. The finish and complexity are medium (+). This should continue to age nicely for several years.
November 18, 2014 - lighter on the acid than previous vintages
November 7, 2014 - Big and unctuous
October 8, 2014 - A flabby, structureless Vouvray with no backbone or nerve. Just enough residual sugar to make the thing sag even further. A little bit of lime, a little bit of pear, but nothing to hold your attention with. I'm sure I'd've been a *bit* less harsh had I paid the market rate of 12 bucks, rather than a 3x multiple at a restaurant, but I'd say this drinks like an 8-buck Vouvray. Increasingly, I'm not sure I want to create a space in my life for 8-buck Vouvray.
August 31, 2014 - not an overly sweet chenin with bright citrus/tropical fruit and zippy acidity. tart lemon-lime and ripe peach on the nose and palate.
green herb and floral notes also come into play. i got a whiff of sourdough bread aswell.
the interplay between tart and ripe fruit plus bright prickly acidity make for fresh food white or a bottle suited to enjoy on its own.
August 30, 2014 - Love this vintage
