August 15, 2022 - Elegant but dark fruited. A bit different than more recent vintages that Pierre has made which have been more red fruit for me. A decent bottle of burg but below expectations.

December 25, 2021 - I really wanted to give one of these LSJ a trial run, knowing it would be a bit early, but really I think this is in an awkward spot as a 3 hour slow ox didn’t help, so we decanted and it slightly loosened but wasn’t giving too much up, we put it back and restoppered and will try again tomorrow
Day 2 and this was a lot more giving, nicely floral and red fruited on the nose, the palate still a bit tight but at least showing some lovely red berry fruit and there’s a long juicy finish with lovely acidity.
I think this is saying come back in 5+ years to see what it has in store

July 21, 2021 - Sweet, candied and elegant Gevrey Chambertin with cherry fruit, spice and minerals. Drinking nicely already with moderate stuffing.

March 6, 2020 - La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting in 14/13/85 vertical, all from magnum. Very Gevrey in all ways, more balanced and harmonious than the 2014. Very good now.

March 6, 2020 - The Verticals Tasting at 2020 La Paulée de New York (Eventi Hotel, New York): Magnum. Not huge, but definitely bigger, riper, and sappier than the 2014 while retaining an excellent soil base. Pleasing citric acidic lift. Much better wine to my taste.

December 15, 2019 - Very enjoyable with no decant. While clearly in need of time to develop a deeper corps and secondary complexity, this wine was beautiful to drink already. A very distinct deep dive mid palate into a rich black-cherry pool. Surrounding that near the surface a very pleasing brighter cherry, tart cherry paste, a vague hint of sous bois and and mellifluous, young pinot passage througout with a crisp dose of balancing but not overdone acid. Duroche's Champs is unusually ready to drink a t an earlier stages than most; the Lavaut is deeper and richer and shows a little less early access.

May 5, 2019 - Poured from a magnum. Light and expressive but very thin on the mid palate due to the vintage even in magnum. Cranberry and minerals.

May 5, 2019 - During a tasting/Paulee dinner, so only brief impressions. From Bagnum. Beautiful and expressive nose of raspberry, cranberry with vanilla and subtle spices. Clean ripe, racy. Great showing.
