February 15, 2023 - THAT Super Village (Yan): Lovely bouquet of violets, wild strawberries and cherries. Palate ensued with soft red fruits, pretty florals with regal elegance. Lovely experience this was and would be interesting to see how it further develops.

February 15, 2023 - Villages-theme'd dinner. Decanted for just ~1-hr prior to serving (blinded), in a flight of '12 Rousseau Gevrey & '01 Dujac MSD. This was most floral amongst the 3. Some scent of stems initially, but this was soon overtaken by a melange of raspberries, cherries, strawberries - truely a potpourri of berries! Silky with nice fruit-intensity, this exuded elegance as well. It further unfurled thr' time in the glass, showing even better as the evening went by. A very nice Chambolle by Mugnier, and it should even improve with more bottle-age, going by how it (not only) held and improved over the course of the dinner...

January 22, 2023 - Tasted July 22. Delicious, but the bottle may have lost some top fruit. 89p

November 9, 2022 - Aromatic, light and pretty. Not a ton of depth, but very elegant.

May 10, 2022 - Very well balanced and integrated tannins. Silky and quite refined with that Mugnier nose of cherries and hoisin which develop further given an hour or so of breathing in glass. Medium complexity. I feel the fruit is not as forthcoming as I would have liked on the palate but maybe due to the vintage. Think I prefer his NSG Marechale on this showing Especially given the QPR

January 18, 2021 - I thought this was well balanced with good fruit, structure, and medium complexity. Nice overall palette feel with good acidity and well integrated tannins. While not upper echelon it is very, very good and worth the purchase.

November 20, 2020 - PnP'ed, floral scents of dark red berries & earth emerged from the glass with a quick swirl. Medium-bodied with nice sappiness and a velvety texture, this was delicious with flavours of dark-red cherries & a little bit of soil. Delicious!

July 21, 2020 - My kind of Burg. Soft yet great finish for a village wine.Still not in its prime, but very drinkable.

June 30, 2018 - 2013 Chambolle-Musigny Village Tasting (Extra Space): Tasted blind. 2013 Chambolle Village Tasting.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, very tight, medium intensity, with aromas of cool stones minerality, red cherries, red berries, brambles. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (12.5%), medium tannins, medium body. Tight medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet earth, green tea, cool stones minerality, brambly bush, raspberries, red cherries. Long finish.
Very good quality. Very tight and I struggled quite a bit for a while, but you can almost grasp at the fine filigreed dense red fruit within.
Was guessing that this is definitely a Chambolle Village from a damm serious producer. Not made for early consumption.
From 2 different parcels, one located in the 1er cru Les Plantes, and the other from the villages portion of La Combe d'Orveau, 60% of which is young vines and the rest 40+ year old vines.

    December 8, 2017 - Roumier Chambolle village 2013 & Mugnier Chambolle village 2013

2013 vintage clearly has mixed reputations, but these two wines were great and very chambolle in nature. Opinions across the table on which wine showed best on the night were split down the middle (and changed over the hour that we enjoyed these). both were superb. Roumier surprisingly very expressive on open, got a lot tighter with time. Great fruit, with lovely precision Mugnier really unfurled in the glass, silkier than the Roumier on the night. very pure and pretty. I really enjoyed this side-by-side of these fantastic village wines.
