July 24, 2019 - Leon's Oregon Offline (Piccolino): Mmm - tasty. Pleasant mousse, rich, slightly sweet (although apparently zero dosage - ripe fruit?), a little oxidative. Seemed to divide opinion, but I'd happily drink this again.

September 20, 2014 - Vibrant, fresh, lean aromas... but overall, pretty quiet and needs attention to garner much from the nose. Tons of bubbles on the soft and elegant palate. Quite mild, showing some lean tartness. Nice soft texture that keeps the mouth puckering. Mild finish with some moderate intensity. Soft tartness. A pretty quiet wine... the intensity is very interesting and intriguing, but for me, I think this wine simply needed more time on the lees to gain some depth and complexity. Nice fruit... luckily, there is more sitting at the winery on the lees. Needs 10 years there!

May 16, 2014 - 89 v 90 Barolo (A Cena Ristorante e Enoteca): A little funky on the nose with bandaids and fresh cabbage, winey, light body, acid shows up late on the finish.

May 16, 2014 - Blind 1989 and 1990 Barolo (a Cena - Ristorante e enoteca, Portland OR): I don't believe this is released yet, and is the first disgorgement. It's a 3/5ths blend of Chardonnay, 2/5s Pinot Noir. Lots of very large bubbles. The wine smells like apple sauce. Yeasty and pretty light on the palate. Nice and soft, but needs some more nerve and more acidic attack. Pretty light flavors. More slight yeast on the soft finish, but here things get pretty elegant. It's a light wine and requires attention, but on the finish the soft, lingering acidity is quite pretty. Really dials up and hangs with you, but it's not all enveloping. Love the finish, but the rest still needs time to come together.
