November 29, 2020 - This bottled drank like an old school, structured, not super ripe beaujolais. A medium bodied, 'crunchy' wine, with tannins and acid battling the fruit, which was in the red fruit spectrum but also had herbal notes too. A little disjointed perhaps, but a good, serious gamay (B+).

February 16, 2019 - 12.5% - Clear, med+ ruby / clean, med intensity - black cherry, strawberry, wet forest floor, mushroomy, violet scent, light peppery note / dry, med+ acidity, med to light body, med to low silky tannin, med intensity, med+ length. Superb Moulin-a-Vent and the best bottle at last. This one was singing!

September 4, 2018 - There must be some serious bottle variation with this wine. An earlier bottle in July was very ordinary, yet this wine was absolutely quintessential top cru bojo. Lifted minerally red fruits on the nose, more blood orange, tangy minerally iron notes on the palate. Lots of fresh acidity with great length. A lovely not overwrought MaV

August 28, 2018 - Made in a very Burgundian fashion: fermented spontaneously with natural yeasts, macerated for a whopping 6 weeks with the skins, aged for 10 months in oak barrels, bottled lightly filtered with a minimal dose of sulfites. 12% alcohol.

Luminous, deep and moderately translucent garnet red color. Savory, high-toned and somewhat restrained nose with pure and somewhat sappy aromas of bright, fresh raspberry tones, some cherries, a little bit of sweet strawberry, a hint of plummy dark fruit and a touch of earthy mineral character. The wine is full-bodied, juicy and quite tough on the palate with high acidity and ample, firm and quite grippy tannins. There are vibrant and ever-so-slightly wild flavors of sweet black cherries, black raspberries, some boysenberries, a little bit of stony minerality, balancing light bitterness, crunchy hints of cranberries and a touch of earthy spice. Overall the wine feels quite muscular and ripe, yet not sweet. The finish is dry and crunchy with lively flavors of brambly raspberries, sour cherry bitterness, some fresh blackcurrants, a little bit of stony bitterness and a hint of earthy spice.

A wonderful, structured and very classic Beaujolais from the stern, muscular and robust end of the style. Despite its 5 years of age, the wine is remarkably youthful and almost primary, speaking volumes on its aging potential. Great stuff now, but has a lot of potential for future development. Superb stuff, highly recommended. Great value at 20,54€.

March 31, 2018 - High acidity and poor fruit. Not flawed, but far from good. May have been a weak bottle, or maybe it just didn't like slow-oxing.
