September 21, 2023 - I assume it is a bit past its prime. Traditionally a 3L ages very well. Hints of mineral and dusty fruit drove the finish.

November 7, 2022 - Nice dark fruits on the nose which continued into the middle which also had some noted of oak and cedar. The tannins were sweet and the finish was long. Sexy hedonistic wine that was a huge crowd pleaser.

June 3, 2022 - Very nice wine, as it always has been. However, this bottle didn’t reach the heights of the last one I had, which was as good as any HSS I have had. Some of the 2012 Napas I have had lately have been a little soft, a little simple. I need to put them down and come back in a year.

November 21, 2021 - Drank alongside a group of older Napa and Bordeaux, and although it was way too young, it more than held its own - even the Francophiles nodded in agreement that this was a lovely wine. Would have been interesting to taste next to a HSS, this was balanced, multidimensional, with dark fruits and a long finish. Just excellent.

March 19, 2020 - From Magnum. Round and plush black cherry and plum notes are encompassed by some cedar and evergreen notes. Finishes medium and a little soft. Balanced and even-keeled. A definite crowd pleaser. A wine to start diving into now before it starts to really lose its grip. Lacks a little vivacity at this point, but still on-point overall at this juncture. Anyone with .750s should start popping these sooner than later in my opinion.
