May 10, 2022 - Black cherry and currant with background cassis, licorice, black pepper, cloves, all supported by a charming sense of perfume. Wonderfully fresh for its age. Excellent weight and density. It is frankly amazing that wine weighing in at 15.8% alcohol on the label can be this well balanced. Still possible upside?

December 31, 2021 - Pop and pour. Absolutely delicious, soft, bold Syrah from the master. This is right in the window and showing magnificently. No rough edges at all and the pure, palate-filling Cumulus fruit is as good as you'd expect. Bravo!

May 12, 2019 - Classic leather wearing brunette caught in a cold shower. SQN flavors, long legs, the girl you want to go home with.

April 11, 2018 - Double Blind Syrah Tasting (Eddie V/s): Always fun to have this wine, although it's definitely a rare treat. Ripe cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, sweet baking spices, great intensity, although overall it lacks the complexity from better vintages. Very good.

May 26, 2017 - Day 1 PnP: Nose shows dark flowers, black cherry, blueberry, black plum, bramble, smoke, nestle crunch (puffed rice and chocolate) -- in a good way. Rich palate shows the class with velvety tannins and full bodied, but balanced palate. Stretches into a never ending finish that has a nice herbal note that seems to mask the alcohol a bit and prevent it from being hot (cooling mint?). Will check back in day 2.
Day 2: after 24 hours, this has barely moved. Given my experience with older SQN, this gives me great optimism about the aging potential here (rather than a wine that will fall apart)
