September 3, 2020 - I think I agree with forceberry on this. a strikingly full style without charm or sense of place for me. Not a treatment that works for Pinot or not here. A staggeringly and unnecessarily heavy bottle too. A poor comparison to another mature Chilean Pinot - the 2010 Casa Marin Lo Abarca Hills Pinot.

August 11, 2015 - Excellent - tried it in Santiago - was completely surprised. Much closer to Burgundy than anything I've had from the US. Strong cherry, lots of tension, solid acidity - elegant and strong with lots fruit without being soft and ripe.

March 9, 2015 - Tasted blind.
Somewhat translucent black cherry color - pretty deep color for a Pinot Noir. The nose feels incredibly rich and hyper-aromatic with very ripe and really expressive aromas of vibrant, cherry-driven Pinosity, perfumed violet tones, juicy blackcurrants, some cranberry marmalade, a little bit of something funky and a hint of wild strawberries. The wine is so obviously a Chilean Pinot Noir on the palate that I say so immediately. There are sweet-toned flavors overripe black cherries, sweet blackcurrants, some earthy Pinosity, a little bit of peppery spice, light jammy tones of wild strawberries and a hint of toasty, savory oak spice. The wine is only medium in acidity with light, gently gripping tannins. The finish is quite sweet-toned and fruit-forward with flavors of fresh cranberries, overripe blackcurrants, somewhat jammy flavors of raspberries and cherries, a hint of peppery spice and a touch of earthy Pinosity.
This was pretty recognizable as a Chilean Pinot Noir: it shows so much Pinosity there's no question that this is a Pinot Noir, but there's so obvious blackcurrant character that makes me think automatically of Chile: no other country produces wines that taste so much of cassis, no matter the variety. I really can't understand why this wine gets hyped so much: to me it tastes just overdone, overripe and too plump for a Pinot Noir with disturbingly pronounced blackcurrant character that really doesn't belong to a good Pinot Noir. This is just too big, too ripe and too clumsy for a world-class Pinot, lacking the necessary finesse and complexity. Not my cup of tea, not by a long shot.
