April 20, 2024 - Tasted right after opening and initial impression was more alcohol than expected. The alcohol predominance became more mellow and wine became way more balanced after about 2 hours decanted. Cork was perfect and only had a perfect dark red/purple color in the bottom, maybe, 1 mm of the cork. I believe wine will keep for another 10 years easily and highly recommend decanting at least 2 hours before drinking. At that point wine is delicious, well balanced and very strong. Felt like a young wine although it has been in a bottle for 22 years.

April 12, 2024 - At first, the nose was very licorice, suggesting that the wine was past its peak. But aeration will do it the greatest good to allow a bright fruit to emerge, against a background of undergrowth and leather. Overall, the wine is a little older for a Cabernet Sauvignon if we take Bordeaux as a benchmark but it remains lively and evolves positively.

The palate is frank and impactful. The acidity remains sufficient and even gives it a suave side, a beneficial thing before the wine develops its 14.9° on a dense juice. Aromas of black fruits, cocoa and tobacco intertwine. However, this lacks substance considering the asking price even if it is a well-made and flavorful wine. Beautiful woody finish with a rocky length.

Very good Cabernet Sauvignon, with a colder profile than those of California.

February 24, 2024 - Purchased on released, and stored in temperature controlled cellar. Decanted 4 hours. Still tight. Opened up over two hours. A lot of life left. Dark fruits.

    December 24, 2023 - Ox-blood in color.
Stewed dark fruit. Hint of oak and all spice.
Thick and chewy. Better with food. Remnants of dark fruit. Some leather and iodine. Chocolate notes. Really expressive. At its peak for sure. Drink now or within the next 12 months.
Excellent wine. Probably better last year.

Love this producer. We did a big lambsicle dinner tonight. The Wine paired perfectly with the food.

December 14, 2023 - Maroon in color. 14.9% ABV. Sublime nose of blue fruits, leather, Whitman Sampler box and violets. Full bodied with tremendous acidity and balance. Concentration and power abound on a wine that has been in the bottle for twenty years now. Blueberry, black raspberry, chocolate truffles and tobacco on the palate. The finish is long and silky. More advanced than my last bottle several years ago but still stunning. Best over the next 2-3 years.

July 4, 2023 - Served with a grilled ribeye. Drinking really well but probably at/close to peak. Nose of chocolate, earth, petrol. Big wine. Lots of chocolate , cassis, mineral notes. Bit of alcohol burn but overall good wine, drinking well.

June 19, 2023 - Have been saving the last one. No longer the fruit (wonderful) bomb it once was, has morphed into an old-world style (without the nose) smooth, beautiful, silky wine to pair with rare rib eye. Hat's off to aging.
