March 8, 2024 - i opened the wrong bottle, but this was beautiful tonight, everyone loved it, the maturity showed with lemon, slate, peachy tropical notes, good length. someone remarked it was almost a desert wine, but it paired perfectly with a baked fish which was dry. the acidity holds it well. we drank it to the bottom with only 9% alcohol and i would say it is right in the zone

May 6, 2023 - 10 years after Riesling tasting - 2013 (Restaurant Holz und Feuer, Kirchheim, Germany): Glass: Sophienwald Universal
Beautiful Spätlese, but it lacks the vibrant energy and tension of its dry Brother. Very round, balanced and juicy. Drinks nicely. Medium+ finish.

    July 16, 2022 - Buoyant

    DAY 1
    Served with the Vinlog System
👃👅Delicious honeyed pineapple, peaches, smoky minerality and florals. Svelte. Delicious & easy to drink

The remaining wine was Slow Decanted in my refrigerator

    DAY 17
👃Mango, lychee, coconut, smoke, elderflower/ white flowers
👅Honeyed pineapple & peach. Intensity without weight.Excellent acidity that gives energy. Fresh & pure. Long peachy finish. Quite sweet: 9% abv

What a wine! I loved this even more on Day17. The wines
from Donnhoff have long been favorites of mine and the
hallmark for me is the intensity and elegance that always
    arrive with mystifying weightlessness. Bravo👏

July 16, 2021 - super tasty and fresh, with racy acidity -- way better on day 4, with impressive depth of flavor -- still mostly primary. lime, honeycomb, wet stone, white flowers, a hint of smoke. med(+) finish. great balance

August 27, 2020 - Opened straight after the 2012 and a very different wine. Nose of ripe peach and smoky honey, but restrained at first - it needs some time in the glass. Terrific mouth feel with flavours of crisp apple, but with some sweetness and loads of mineralogy. Less acidic freshness than the '12 but a lovely finish.
