January 7, 2024 - Four hour decant. Fading garnet with slight edge bricking. First bottle consumed since my 2019 review. This has improved. More fragrant and very smooth with cherry, plum, leather and other secondary notes. Very well balanced. The fruit is showing little diminishment. Medium weight with purity and less minerality than many other Renaissance wines. I would even describe this as elegant, almost like a quality Pinot. It paired well with crab cakes and charcuterie. Tremendous value for $18.

December 31, 2023 - Stood up for a 1.5 days and then decanted off sediment. Now 3.5h after decant. Somewhat shy but lovely aromas of dried cherries, cassis, currants, brown tobacco, leather and a hint of cedar. Palate w dried tart cherries, currants, cassis, leather, brown tobacco. Medium body w excellent acids and barest touch of VA. Med tannins. Nice finish fruit that echoes. Elegant and complex. Mouth watering acids. The polar opposite of the big, new oak driven stereotypical CA cab sauvignon. Old school CA winemaking at it's best. Just beautiful with reverse seared ribeye steak. Drinking beautifully now and I think it's at peak. Don't think the wine will fall off anytime soon but still, it's great now. Open last bottle in the next 1-2 yrs. 93+

April 21, 2023 - Nicely balanced cali cab, still in its prime. Not life changing, but worthy.

July 17, 2021 - Drank with Meredith over flank steak. Stood up for several weeks and decanted off fine sediment for 3h in wine fridge then back into bottle. Drank 5h after decant. Lovely aromas of currants, tart cherries, leather, cedar and a bit of eucalyptus. Tart cherries on the palate followed cassis, currants, minerals, leather, cedar and a bit of eucalyptus again. Excellent acids on a medium body. Elegant but still with some weight. Drinking really well. 92+
