Short finish, not sure what’s going on here. Not showing well

    April 13, 2023 - Sommelier blind-guessed it as a BdM. I think that was a great guess.

My thinking is that Gaja's wine was beautiful with fantastic intensity, a good dollop of tannins and just a touch of wood. Transparent and beautiful. An excellent "Barolo" made with sensitivity and grace 👌

February 7, 2023 - Heart cherry, very old aceto Balsamico, prune, cranberry, blueberry, mulberry, licorice, sweet tomato, fir honey, malt. Powerful und elegant. Ever changing. I am in heaven, exceptionally delightful.

October 9, 2022 - R birth year. Decanted but served it too cold. Played the "I'll Drink to That" interview of Antonio Gaja on the acquisition of the Sperss vineyard then toasted R. Gorgeous wine, in complete harmony: fruit, violets, savory notes, wood, tobacco. Would love to have started exploring Barolos earlier.

June 7, 2022 - Very pretty nose with notes of roses, red cherries, licorice, chocolate, and menthol. Good acidity with tart red berries, cherries, and strawberries. The tannins are pretty refined and integrated. Long finish. This is an excellent wine, but it doesn't really taste like a classic Nebbiolo in my opinion (which, granted, it's not).
