March 24, 2023 - Similar notes and still a bit of earthy funk, likely has reached its peak.

January 1, 2022 - Brick/currant color. Scents of mint, herbs, blueberry, & cocoa. Flavors of plum/stone fruit, some herbal notes, definitely old world style. Brighter than anticipated finish.

February 27, 2021 - Brown paper bag w/Wine & Cheese group, most thought French - aged right bank or Languedoc guesses which I could easily see as well. Pnp so didn't get full air time, could see slight bricking in color, and gave off cave aged musty aromas, a little funk, campfire, and muted black fruits. On the palate it delivered cigar, savory shrooms, and plum sauce. Well balanced, lower acid, if a bit soft and thin on the short+ finish. Worked well with pizza later, this btl did not suggest a lot of runway ahead, would tend to drink up sooner than later.

June 16, 2020 - Decanted this time and that did help it open up more. This is a big wine with black fruit, lavender and earth. It has a long spicy finish.

March 22, 2020 - Decanted 1 hour, but probably didn't need it. This wine has gotten even better than when it was younger I think. Great nose of black fruit, vanilla and flowers, following to the palate. Finish is all mocha; heavy on the chocolate with notes of espresso. Very enjoyable, and held up on day 2 as well. Very impressed! Drink now - 2026+.

March 22, 2020 - Beautiful rich blackberry and blueberry, with a healthy amount of wood and spice with an herbal, minty hint in the back. Very intense tannin upon opening that faded just enough to balance the richness after a 2 hour decant.

December 14, 2019 - Popped and poured at RingSide Steakhouse for our monthly Boys Night dinner. Followed the stunning 2012 Flip Side from Sleight of Hand. Far more feminine and restrained, while still providing some serious deliciousness. Black fruit, tobacco and espresso. Drink now - 2026.
