August 12, 2023 - 10 years and 50 years: breathing in bottle for 30 mins, dense dark fruits and savoury flavours, earth, mushroom and slightly meaty notes. a juicy and concentrated core, with obvious whole bunch complexity, some spices and sweet herbals. m+ body, smooth and fine grained tannins. long finish with mild cedar and creamy chocolate. a well balanced and well aged Pinot Noir, a more concentrated version of Te Muna single vineyard!

indigenous yeast, 40% whole cluster, 13.4% alc, 11 months in 32% new French oak barriques.

    Total 94/100

November 7, 2022 - Needs an hour or two in a decanter, some earthy development with plenty of fruit showing still, early maturity

February 24, 2022 - Opened to drink during service at Oinoscent
Hand harvested, natrurally fermented, matured in french oak, 11 months
The wine shows bright clear red color.
The wine shows high intensity in the nose, extrovert, intoxicating spicy profile, peppery, cinnamon, ripe red and a few black fruits, cherries, strawberries, nice oak frame, earthy, pot pouri notes, biscuit, like christmas cake !
In the palate, the wine shows acidity, ripe red fruit, alcohol heat, smooth tannins, light spicy, oaky and nutty, light body, meidum finish.
It felt fully developed and possibly going downhill.

Later that night.... It falls apart rather fast with time, strong coffee, dried fruits, bruised red apples notes

February 27, 2020 - Trinity Fine Wines Tasting (Noel): The wine shows outstanding NZ purity and freshness, ripe red and black fruit with a few floral notes.
In the palate, the wine is very smooth, easy drinking, nice oak frame, vanilla, ripe fresh black fruit, smooth tannins, nice acidity, long finish.
    Outstanding quality

    July 18, 2019 - approx £55.00

    Decanted 1 hr before tasting.

C....light colour, medium body, alc legs.

N....intense nose; sweet wood; warm spices; some fuggy forest floor impression, exciting in a subtle way; floor wet leaves; loved it.

T.....warm spices; maybe too much alc?; toasty oak; not yet mature at all but drinking v well anyway. Long flavours; silky texture; stops - eventually - off dry; fine tannins; classy wine. Lovely soft style, well balanced acid. Seductive! Sophisticated NZ pinot. Solid cherry red fruit, great depth, very long mid-palate, nice essence at end. Maybe could be more 'French' or rustic in style - just a preference - but this is CR house style. A fine silky classy wine. No bramble complexity, it's 'straight' not eccentric. Mature 2023?

VFM? costly, but class costs. Buy again. 94 today but 95 on potential when mature.
