May 15, 2018 - Rich red-crimson colour. Soft, sweet red fruit pastille nose, very welcoming bouquet. Initially soft and rich blueberry and leather palate with mildly tannic and acidic finish. Delicious wine coming into its optimal drinking window with at least 5 years improvement ahead. Great wine with heart fare eg beef shin ragu.
September 1, 2017 - Darker iron and beef's blood when first opened. With air mellowed out and became quite nice. Still never a fleshly light Grenache by any means. Good, just needed air.
October 3, 2015 - Old school, dark fruit and intense minerality. Definitely not the more modern bright red Priorat style, but intriguing.
September 4, 2015 - 5 btls and 6 ppl (Umeå, North Sweden): Gott som fan men i sällskap med kvällens övriga viner kändes den något klumpig.
May 18, 2015 - Weekly tasting group #167; A fully blind test. (@ AH): Previous note was made at a retailer's tasting. This one is a completely blind note and the wine showed better. Concentrated bouquet with dark berry fruits, some herbs and spices and pleasant oak. On the palate also a good concentration, dark berries, sweet licorice, chocolate and sweet spices. Good acidity and tannin. Just after opening the wine has some VA, but with some more air that blows off. Beautiful wine. Early maturity now and will drink nicely until at least 2020. 89+
April 20, 2015 - Retailer tasting (Vianen): The bouquet is a bit locked but there is some garrigue and the smell is also slightly reductive. On the palate ripe red and dark forest fruits and good herbs and spices, a touch of sweetness, ok acidity and round tannin. More elegant style. Give the wine a few years of ageing.
April 3, 2015 - The most attractive btl of the evening, out of 11.
Plush, rich and very promising nose of refined raspberries, some peppery spice and a hint of smoked meat.
Palate is unnecessarily young in all aspects but nevertheless rather appealing. M++ tannins and M+ acids on plush, intense, concentrated and M+ bodied fruit. I oftentimes find Grenache taking over Syrah, especially in a young wine. But in this btl, the two are already beautifully knit together.
Should develop well over the medium term, and I can only say that I crave more btls of this beautiful juice. 92 today and possibly more to come.
Will get two more for pleasures around 2020 and beyond.
February 22, 2015 - Opened up and had one glass. Really fruit driven, quite compact. Put the bottle in the fridge overnight.
Still very young day 2 but smoothened out a bit, alcohol not present at all.
Drinking well now.
February 22, 2015 - Riktigt trevligt och välbalanserat i fyllig stil. Det känns aldrig för mycket av något utan allt faller snyggt på plats. Stilmässigt så påminner det mer om en Chateauneuf-du-Pape än Priorat. Läcker och ganska insmickrande mörk frukt som drar åt plommon och körsbär men inte utan stramhet och ryggrad. Kryddigt och komplext med drag av lagerblad, svarta oliver, lavendel, peppar, tjärpastill, rostade fat och ett uns färsk dill. Bra intensitet och struktur med mustig, lång och blyertsstinn eftersmak.
Riktigt läckert och charmigt vin med en prislapp som känns helt rätt (200 pix). Klar köprekommendation och helt rätt en söndag i februari.
