April 15, 2024 - Haven’t touched one of these in years, and the time has been good to it: complex, bright but not screeching acidity, and with the primary lemon and apple fruit now taking a back seat to richer, deeper flavors, though this is still only in early middle age. A fabulous spring food wine, and a wine for contemplation too. Glad I have another; I’ll sample across vintages and bottlings and let this last one sit for another 5 years at a minimum.

February 12, 2022 - Just kicking it out of the bottle and only got better over three hours. Intense aged citrus, wool and mineral nose, bracing acidity and mineral edge with great body and weight in palate. Long edgy finish. Lit up the senses. Slowly shifted and opened, acidity softened and fruit added layers of green apple, pear, citrus shifted to more well defined lemon, aged lemon, lemon peel, Wool and mineral morphed and gained complexity with wood and earth, maybe lightest burnt sugar. Get the prior notes re: hazel nuts, umami for a certain unique organic quality. Maybe not everyone's style, but crazy interesting, great on its own then with oysters followed by sauteed sea scallops and again on its own.

February 2, 2021 - Glad I gave this time to age. Stanrocks captured it. I thought the fruit faded in 8 hours and the acidity and tartness (green apple) came out. Would drink within 6 hours Really enjoyed this wine and it’s complexity.

August 28, 2020 - Super impressive stuff for $24. Stanrocks note captures this wine for me. It did take a long time to open up. It got better over the course of 12 hours. Incredibly tart acidity. Very under ripe green apple in the mouth. There is some nuttiness on the nose with wax, tea, cardamone and lime. Very salty on the back. Serious stuff.

May 4, 2020 - Needed so much time to get to that level... opened it at midday, now evening...the wine is at its best... young it was very acid and tart...I believe it was picked under ripe, or very edgy... but now it shows a nutty character, the slight evolution on cardamome, earl grey, is so powerful and lovely on the nose. palate is still brightly fresh and crispy, but has really gotten better... Pear, hazelnut, some dry lemon hints, finishing on umami salty chalk... still a long way to go but this shows « enfin » a bit !!!
