March 4, 2024 - The cork was not it the neck, but floating down in the wine.
The wine wasn't oxidized (Weird, maybe fell in during the transport the day before?)
The wine was classic aged Pomerol, sous bois, cedar and some preserved plum.
But a bit volatile acidity and in general lacking tannin and texture.
Overall a good, but not great wine (maybe harshly judged due to the faulty cork)
April 21, 2019 - Dense garnet. Lovely trad claret nose with sandalwood, a touch of fruitcake and some tobacco. Mellow, mature and smooth. Very harmonious. Just lacking a little stuffing though the mid-palate. Drink up. ****
December 19, 2018 - Drank at 67
Slightly fading, need to try another one
November 20, 2018 - very attractive and elegant nose, great mix of fruits and truffle. the wine is medium bodied, very elegant and balanced. I would have rated it a little higher had there been a tad more flesh but I enjoyed it a lot. the bottle was not tired but I do not think additional cellaring time would benefit to it.
March 29, 2017 - Similar to the 1989 in colour. Open and complex nose - forest notes, spices, cedar, tobacco, red and dark fruit. Soft and smooth on the palate, great acidity, much more alive and vibrant than the 1989. Very well balanced and long. Lovely. Drink up. 92-94
January 22, 2016 - Light in color, medium bodied, soft textured and focused more on the red fruit and truffle nose, than the easy drinking, cherry dominated palate. This is not a wine for further aging.
November 23, 2015 - Light ruby color. Started out with a hint of barnyard scent that faded. Nose of plum, red fruits, iron, leather, sous bois, and caramel. Light on the attack, but lush on the palate. Round tannins almost fully integrated. Lacking a bit of acidity and length on the finish. Really like this complex, attractive nose, but the palate does lack a bit of punch and concentration. Still, a very nice wine that I wouldn't mind trying again soon.
October 9, 2015 - Mørke toner, åpen, lær, skogbunn. en fin Bordeauxopplevelse.
April 27, 2015 - Beautiful nose of cepes de Bordeaux, sous-bois, gibier, leather... super silky tannins, very evolved, light ripe cherries, nice mature claret,
February 24, 2015 - Nice and developed with high complexity - Leather, vanilla, butter, forest floor and wet rotten wood. Sour cherry backbone with matured cheese and raw meat flavours on the palate. Tannins are supple but the acidity makes the wine lively.
