October 27, 2019 - Christmas cake nose, dried apricots, nuts, ginger and spices a plenty. Intense sweet and fruity in mouth with a tiny hint of dryness at the finish. Not at all cloying. Very good. Bought at Yarra Valley winery.

July 14, 2017 - Not 100% it's the right wine. Lots of brown sugar and syrup. Extremely dense and burnt sugar sweet coupled with a good acidity level. Yummy in small doses!

December 30, 2015 - Amber colored with an impeccably clean nose with fair complexity of toffee, caramel, dried fruit and rancio.
Luscious on the palate but well balanced, flavorful and long.
For some reason I had a feeling that this was somehow a standardized product, the effect of the endless advertising in the Decanter magazine? Still a very likeable and reliable sweet fortified wine!

September 4, 2015 - The wine is clear with a deep intensity, amber color. Distinct legs.

The nose is clean, complex and fully developed with a medium(+) aroma intensity. Aromas of raisins, caramel, dried tropical fruit, dried stone fruit, rancio, spice, fudge, resin and acetone. Very intriguing nose.

Luscious on the palate with a medium acidity, full bodied and fortified to a medium alcohol. The flavor intensity is medium(+) with flavors of dried tropical fruit, dried stone fruit, raisin, spice, resin, burned sugar and fudge. The finish is long.

A really interesting wine! It lacks a bit of acidity to balance the full body and sweetness. Great complexity on the nose.

April 8, 2014 - The nose is clean and fully developed, showing medium intensity aromas of prunes, raisins, cedar and nail varnish remover. The wine is sweet in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has low soft tannins and a medium alcohol (for a fortified wine). It has a full body and pronounced intensity flavours of prunes, raisins, cedar and nail varnish remover. The finish is long.
