December 31, 2023 - Dark chocolate raspberry ganache. Dried currants, slight leather. Elegant and mature. Enjoy.
October 6, 2020 - Hello old friend. Bought a bunch of 99s to celebrate birth of son. He’s 21 now and these are still hanging around. Nose is still consistent of rose and lilac. Deep dried currant with light smokey beef. How is it the finish keeps going so long? Impressive against the stand of time. Enjoy and happy bday to my son.
June 17, 2019 - Stunning effort here.
I should rate it higher..what a masterpiece from the master, Dick Arrowood.
The so called geniuses in the new wine world should open a bottle of this and take notes.
A 20 year old Sonoma Cab still in top form, huh, go figure, when the “new wines” last barely 5!
Drink now thru 2024.
Of course this btl had a perfect cork and was cellared properly.
February 2, 2019 - Opened about 90 minutes prior to dinner. Had high file and cork showed very little soak but, the cork was very dry and crumbly. Still a dark semi opaque crude oil color would lead to you to believe this has another decade in it. It didn't. This would flesh out nicely in the glass for about 30 minutes then start to fade and show some oxidation. Pretty drinkable and had it moments but not long for world. 14.1% alc. I wouldn't buy this particular vintage again and I'd check in on one soon if you own them.
December 8, 2018 - Still going strong after 19 years
April 27, 2017 - Very velvety best to drink now if you have any
March 4, 2017 - Turned
February 24, 2017 - Great
April 10, 2016 - Showing it's age. Very thin looking in the glass, with some bricking. Still drinks well, with light earthy notes. Quite a contrast to the other bottle we enjoyed beforehand.
November 20, 2015 - Fading. Lavender on the nose. White pepper and springtime notes, with a slightly gamey finish. Really good. Enjoy.
