May 5, 2019 - delicate and austere, as the 12.2 alc might indicate. red fruit with a tinge of sour. muted white pepper. elegant and enjoyable over 4 hours. I think this is still a year or two away from fully coming together.
the fruit is still bright and diminishes any smoke or bacon fat you might expect from a syrah. good acidity, very tasty with grilled skirt steak and pork tenderloin -

July 18, 2018 - Red fruit, flowers, plums, and spices on the nose. Medium+ acidity with some medicinal notes and flavors of red cherries and pomegranate on the palate. Nice finish.

April 10, 2016 - Notes from a group of 9 people, blind tasting of six 2011 Syrah. 4 CA, 1 France, 1 Italy. Not decanted. Ranked 6/6. 5 of 9 rated it last, although there were a 1st & a 2nd. Nose: nice, blackberry, sweet spices - cinnamon. Palate: lush, sour, very bright, cherry, unripe, fresh currants, confused. Although we tasted w/ crackers & 4 cheeses, I wonder if it would be better w/ an acid-demanding food?
