September 24, 2021 - Amazed to find one of these bottles tucked away in my seller. The year 2000 was a difficult vintage, but the good folks at Arrowood seem to have managed to make a WINE that survives time. Not overly aromatic, the wine shows cans of dried cherry, Sage, bitter sweet chocolate, and just a tad of earthiness… I would’ve expected much more… The wine as smooth as silk, the tannins are totally resolved, And on the pallet it’s in perfect balance explosion of fruit in the mid pallet and a beautiful long finish… I would never guess this to be a 21 year old wine —We don’t have that classic cedar, tobacco, earth — but I wouldn’t let this wine sit much more than the next two or three years… Wonderful, thank you Arrowood I am totally impressed — seems like a good value if you can find any of these bottles you won’t be disappointed.

August 17, 2018 - Opened a bottle of the 2000 reserve and still drinking well. i was actually surprise with the strong concentration of fruit and moderate tannins. Deep fruit flavors with touch of leather, tar, and cassis. I personally think this wine can be held another 3 or more year. In 2 or 3 years there will be plenty of fruit left and might soften the moderate tannins. Past reviewers have under- rated in my opinion.

March 13, 2017 - powerful nose blasting off with toasted almond, black cherry, and tar.
There is a slight bitterness on the palate which is somewhat disappointing after the promising bouquet. Tar and leather dominate with some dried fruit and some coffee bean. Perhaps just a little over the hill at this point.

December 9, 2015 - Pours the color of fresh blackberry juice with no visible signs of age. Nose of purple berries, tobacco, vanilla and a distinct nuttiness. Flavors of cassis, red currant, vanilla, and tobacco.

Medium bodied with a silky texture. The tannins are noticeable and just a touch prickly, but fairly well integrated and though there's a good amount of fruit, there's enough acidity to keep the wine from feeling ponderous and heavy. Finishes medium and at 13.8% abv, no hint of alcohol. Drinks like a wine half its age -- I disagree with those who think the wine is tired. If this bottle is representative, it could last another decade. Quite enjoyable and a crazy good buy for $20.

September 18, 2015 - Still had the fruit and 2 tasters felt it was at it's peak and 2 thought it was very good but beyond it's prim
