December 2, 2023 - J Bday dinner at Wimborne. 2 hours of air in decanter. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Lots of sediments. Appearance is deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of boysenberries, black plums, black cherries, blackberries, dark red cherries, chocolate smoky tobacco, coffeebean, very fragrant earth with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fruity blackberries, blueberries, black cherries, dark licorice, coffee-bean, smoky tobacco, tertiary earth and meat with more air. Long finish.
Very very good quality. Complex and drinking very well in a good place. Still fruity but coming out with some tertiary earth already in a nice mix.

July 24, 2022 - Coats the glass with a lot of visual structure and a dark red robe. The nose opens up immediately with ripe cherry, coffee bean, earth, pepper, and cloves. The palate is more fresh and the tannins are just right. Medium bodied, medium finish, and more fruity than you would expect with this nose. The finish is complex, layered and nuanced, in a crescendo from red fruit to apple pie. Very easily mistaken for a big left bank Bordeaux. This is ready and will likely drink well for the next 5 years, but not one for the ages.

May 8, 2022 - Full body. Nice structure. Tannins are noticeable but not overpowering. Dark berry dusty fruits. Nice complexity and finish. Good acidity.
