February 9, 2017 - 12.5% alcohol, medium foil, real cork (monogrammed), short to medium legs, fruit forward nose & taste, notes of pears, peaches, plums; affects especially the sides of the tongue -- slight sourness; pleasant moderate-lasting finish; pair with Chilean Sea Bass & other fatty fishes

March 30, 2016 - Pale Straw color, fresh stone fruit and some citrus notes on the nose
On the palate it is light with quite a bit of earthiness and pronounced acidity at the end.
A good summer wine that will also go well with light tapas or snacks.

December 30, 2015 - Easy drinking dry white. Where the hillside viñards meet the tranquil rías you'll find groves of rush canes known locally as juncos, which are as emblematic of Galicia (named after Gauls, a Celtic people who settled here) as the Albariño grape. I get aroma of white peach and ripe pear. Flavours of pineapple and crisp, dry citrus.

September 28, 2015 - Intro Somm Day 1 - Paso (Paso Robles): Clear, Day-bright. Pale straw, reflections of green and yellow.
    Moderate tears.

Slight RS - 3g? Actually, this is dry.

    Nose:
Slightly reductive, Moderate intensity. Faint stone fruits. Faint neutral oak aging? Slight mushroomy tones.
    Earth- stones,
    Underripe white peach.
    Florals - semiaromatic, slight terpenes.

    Medium body,
    Elevated alcohol - 13%
    Elevated Acid - strong tartaric
    Slight phenolic bitterness.
    More floral.

    A bit of weight here.
    Possibilities:
    Pinot Gris
    Floral
    Not vegetal

    Albarino, Rias Baixas, 2013.
Gruner - no radish, no white pepper. If it were this alcoholic it would be a Smaragd (12% or more) and I'd want more radish/vegetal character.
Pinot Gris - would have RS or botrytis or something.

Actually: La Cana Albarino, Rias Baixas. 2013

August 20, 2015 - Nothing too fancy, just a good anytime white. Crisp citrus with a little tropical fruit, but refreshing minerals and acid. Would be good with light fish like halibut or scallops. Would not hesitate to but again.
