August 31, 2020 - Monthly Boys' Wine Night (Eric's House, Hong Kong): Long decant. With a cigar. Very mulled smooth nose. Palate is sharp but nicely clean cherry liqueur. Is smoother with more time in the glass. Always a pleasure...able to stand out even though the last of 17 wines tonight.

August 27, 2020 - The cork had pushed out 3 or 4mm and there was a slightly musty smell on the cork. A bright light garnet. An immediate taste of the last decanted 'waste' was quite hot. It took about an hour for it to open up and then over the next couple of hours developed further.

Some interesting stem notes on the nose after a couple of hours, almost like a whole bunch Pinot noir. Dry and spicy, without any cloying sweetness. Some dark chocolate and dried fruit, but also some cherries in the first hour.

Wonderful. Two more bottles left from the case I bought in the early '90s...

May 20, 2020 - Port with Demetri Walters MW (Zoom!): Lovely ruby. A bit flat on the nose. Sweet entry, grippy and firm. Spicy! Cherry finish. Concentrated and vinous.

April 5, 2020 - Spectacular. Rich, layered, smooth, beautifully balanced with tastes that lasted so long. Enjoyed over several nights of social distancing, it continued to be delicious although the first night was the brightest.
