July 5, 2023 - Part of a 9 syrah blind tasting. Suffered in comparison to the bigger bolder syrahs but also compared to the more elegant ones. Hard to pigeonhole this wine as one or the other, but drinking well now and should have a few more years left. 3 hour decant.

August 10, 2022 - This wine drank beautifully. Fully integrated fruit, tannins, and acidity with such a lovely mouthfeel. Lovely notes, of blackberry, black cherry, smokey cedar, and leather.

March 3, 2022 - Smooth. Friends excited by Seghesion home ranch over paella, but no contest to me.

April 3, 2021 - Five Syrah, blind (four WA, one OR), plus two Reynvaan non-blind: Tasted blind. This smells great: nice and fresh, albeit not as "big" as the three noses before it. Cherry and spice dominates. Blackberry fruit, but on the less-ripe side, if that makes sense. Some underbrush as well. What strikes me the most is the lovely balance and purity here. Sneaky tannins show up on the very long finish. This could age more, but it's great now. My guess, based on those tannins: Red Mountain.

August 17, 2020 - Purple with ruby edges. Nose of pronounced cedar. No real fruit notes. Medium body with clear color. Tannins are still grippy. Acid is in balance. medium finish. No real fruit noticeable. I would say it may get better with time but not sure if it will just get thinner and fade away.
