October 15, 2023 - Interesting wine. Aromatically a bit muted. There’s some cigar paper, pepper here but not much more. On the palette the wine is ripe, maybe overly so. It sometimes tastes like there’s some RS here, but I suspect it’s dry and I’m just getting that hot California sun. The is fairly balanced, but could use a touch more acidity to be right on balance, in my opinion. The alcohol is well integrated here, never standing out, I’ll give it that. But overall, for a wine with 12 years under its belt, I expected more secondary characteristics and powerful aromatics. Maybe that’s partly the screwcap closure, I don’t know. Not a bad wine but candidly hoping for more.

December 25, 2022 - Dark stone fruit nose, taste of blackberry with medium tannins, probably should drink soon. My bottle was well cellared and seemed past its prime. Went well with roast beef.

June 5, 2021 - probably a bit past it's best but still very drinkable. Coravin over a period of about a month. Colour still good though showing some age but entire to rim. Nose was lots of aged polished mahogany with spikes of spiced plums etc. palate very similar. A bit lighter than I had expected but paired well both lamb and a decent rib eye. I think it was overpriced (£41)

November 1, 2019 - PnP from 375. Drank over several hours. Garnet red with a hint of orange at the rim. Explosive nose of black currant, orange blossom and a hint of (delicious) barnyard funk. Bright red fruits, strawberry and again that orange blossom on the palate, nice acid and a little sweetness in the finish. Ton of life left in this even in the half bottle format and a bargain from the recent winery sale.
