March 20, 2023 - At about 19 years age, still a fantastic wine. Drinking sweet dark blueberries , limited nose, integrated tannins , long legs, and deep purple to the rim. Enjoyed over two nights , and the second night just a hair less satisfying !

July 31, 2022 - In my cellar since release. Decanted at 4:30 and tasted from 6:30-8:30. This had a tremendous amount of dark fine grained sediment. The resulting wine was slightly translucent medium to dark ruby-violet. The nose had very obvious dominant blueberry along with a little vanilla and baking spice. The palate was smooth, rich and chewy with little tannin but a nice level of acidity. It was again blueberry dominant along with strong notes of nutmeg, game meat, black cherry, pepper and a very long chocolaty finish. Despite the labeled 15,6% ABV this showed little to no heat and actually was quite balanced. This was a huge surprise, way better than I expected. It was great with a variety of appetizers (like thick cut maple glazed bacon), steaks and desserts (wild with a berry sauced cheesecake). Remarkably youthful, delicious and elegant but in ways that likely are in stark contrast to this wine when it was actually much younger. From this experience I see no reason to hurry to drink any of these if well stored. But also no need to wait either…in a beautiful spot now.

December 20, 2019 - Showed better than previous tasting last year, revealing a much nicer finish along with some layers of complexity not previously displayed. Similar notes "Rich deep fruit in the nose and flavor with black cherries, blueberries, blackberries, chocolate, and minerals". Full bodied, nicely balanced, and a smooth medium to long finish.

August 10, 2018 - Rich deep fruit in the nose and flavor with black cherries, blueberries, blackberries, chocolate, and minerals. Full bodied with a medium to long slightly tart finish, this wine just lacked the wow factor to score higher.

November 24, 2017 - I liked this wine, but it disappointed a bit. The bottle wasn't flawed, 45 min decant. The nose was luscious as one gets from a full-bodied, well-made shiraz but the wine, at least for now it didn't quite come together in the glass. More time? Longer decant? Not so sure.
