February 6, 2021 - Checked in on this over a couple of days and happy to report it's showing quite well. At age 10, there are still plenty of red fruit and plum notes on the palate, with secondary cigar box, leather, and iron notes competing for attention. Plenty of smooth drying tannins ad acidity to go longer, I think it's in a great place to enjoy now. Recommend pairing with food, went great with filet mignon topped with a few pats of butter. Day 2 = Day 1

December 2, 2018 - Well, it certainly wasn't a Pinot Noir! Decided to have a bottle just because. Decanted about an hour prior to consumption and consumed over about an hour (I had help).

Nose was dusky and earthy with some dark fruit overtones. Slight alcohol bite to the aroma but overall good if somewhat subdued. Very complex.

First sips - wine was somewhat closed but presented the dark fruits on the sides of the tongue. Definitely had the dusty earthy taste some like and some don't. Overall, I really like this wine but it needs to go with food to be at it's best. Not as large as I expected but held it's own nonetheless.

Later the wine opened up a bit and had a nice cigar/leather nose which followed through into the taste. The fruit brightened up a bit and by the end of the bottle the wine was really showing well. Even a pinot-phile like me can enjoy this wine.

February 5, 2018 - Unreal. Great balance of cigar box and dark fruits — Black raspberry, plum. 45 second finish or more. More time might make it better, but it’s in range of its perfection.

September 9, 2017 - Wow! Had high expectations and they were exceeded! Insane nose, that blends Napa and Bordeaux. Palate is smooth, with a great mix of fruit, earth, and smoke. Extraordinarily smooth and refined. This is what wine should taste like!! Don't tell anyone about this, as I want it all to myself!!

March 5, 2017 - Drinking really well. A robust display of fruits. Well done.
