August 6, 2023 - Killer wine since 2020 when we last had it when it was Ho-him. Full bodied with lots of chocolate. Great pairing with beef stir-fry with bell peppers from America’s Test Kitchen, on of our favorite meals.

April 3, 2020 - Drinking easy. Nice fruit and a sweet creamy vanilla oaky undertone. Quite nice and pleasant to drink but my palette is leaning more Bordeaux these days I will drink my remaining bottle soon

February 25, 2020 - Brought to a steakhouse for dinner along with a 2012 Aiken PNV bottling from the morisoli vineyard. We drank this wine a few minutes after opening and consumed over 30 minutes or so. The Pott was much more elegant than I was anticipating given the mountain fruit and age. Had a nice fragrant bouquet of flowers mixed with blue fruit. Drinking the wine reveals more blue fruits and plum, tobacco leaf, and a kiss of menthol on the tail end. A very clean and pure wine. However, the finish was fairly short and did not captivate with any grip or redeemable tannin or structure that suggest this wine will continue to age with grace. While still present, the fruit was even beginning to hide behind the curtains do take a break from the main stage.

While I enjoyed this I was expecting a bit more grip and intensity from this wine, which simply wasn’t there. Perhaps chalk it up to the short decant, but it felt more like a wine that has moved off it’s prime. The morisoli at the same vintage was better in every respect.

    90-91 points, Drink now

February 8, 2020 - The wine surprised me that it was so thin with no secondary development; uninteresting. I believe that it will not improve. We have two more bottles that we will drink soon to make room for others waiting a turn.

Had with Chicken in Peanut Sauce from The Gourmet Slow Cooker by Lynn Alley which is a staple here; always wonderful.

April 20, 2019 - What a delightful wine that just dances on the palate with rich blue/red fruit, complexity, and great structure !
PNP from a 55 degree active cellar to an Italesse universal. Dark purple with a crimson rim. Notable bouquet of purple plum, cedar, black raspberry, tobacco leaf, and menthol.
Coats the mouth beautifully with pristine fruit and a welcome vein of acidity. Blackberries, plum, and assorted blue fruit. Aaron's wines have that notable hint of austerity and restraint that I long for in Napa Cabernet.

Probably can develop some secondary nuance with 2-3 years time; but no need to wait here. Drinking very nicely for a 2012 bottling.
