April 20, 2019 - What a delightful wine that just dances on the palate with rich blue/red fruit, complexity, and great structure !
PNP from a 55 degree active cellar to an Italesse universal. Dark purple with a crimson rim. Notable bouquet of purple plum, cedar, black raspberry, tobacco leaf, and menthol.
Coats the mouth beautifully with pristine fruit and a welcome vein of acidity. Blackberries, plum, and assorted blue fruit. Aaron's wines have that notable hint of austerity and restraint that I long for in Napa Cabernet.

Probably can develop some secondary nuance with 2-3 years time; but no need to wait here. Drinking very nicely for a 2012 bottling.

April 13, 2019 - I found this thinner and more tart (and mostly red fruit driven) than other reviewers. Given some of my previous notes on this wine, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that it isn't going to get much better. Of course, it could just be in a dumb phase, but I found this to be much richer, riper, and complex in the past and I suspect those days are behind us. What was a 93/94 in 2017 is now a 91...

October 6, 2018 - Drank from a Magnum. No formal notes. This is aging quite well, and showing really nice integration of all parts. A mix of blue and red fruit, this has decent concentration but isn't going to overwhelm you with power. It's elegant, showing really silky texture, wonderful balance, more acidity than you would normally find with a Napa Cab and works extremely well with food. It definitely continued to improve over the course of 8 hours open. It will likely age well and continue to improve in the short term, but it's not a crime to have it now.

June 26, 2018 - Big ripe and tight right out of the gate. Black fruits dominate with some mocha notes and not much else at first. Medium to full bodied in the mouth with some tart black cherry and blackberries dominating, but nowhere near as plush as some of these other 12's. Chalky tannins give this some serious grip. I finished my glass and let the rest sit as this needs big time air.
Day 2 this has settled down a lot but is still quite primary. Obviously some good juice but not anywhere near ready.

June 10, 2018 - Drank from a magnum. Deep rich and viscous Cabernet expression. Similar notes to my last tasting.

The nose is one of freshly paved asphalt mixed with floral essences. The graphite presence is unrelenting on the palette. The flavors include cassis, blackberry fruits, and a sweetness on the finish which is raisen like.
