April 8, 2017 - Amazing nose, blackberry, cherry and dark chocolate. Tannins were really soft. Body was lighter than expected and finish was not as long as I'd hoped. Maybe needed more time to open up. Though 2011 was not an amazing vintage.

August 23, 2015 - Bright, acidic. Mellowed out some on second day. Expected more tanic structure than was present on this one. Finish was short. Still, a solid wine from Behrens as always.

May 28, 2015 - Needed some reasonable decanting time to tame but then became very nice and smooth. Rich, creamy chocolate notes. Blackberry, a little oak/cedar.

December 22, 2014 - There is a reason we call this wine “The Knockout”. Full-bodied and luscious with great structure, it has beautiful aromas of violets and black cherry pie. Flavors of dark fruits – plum and blueberry, extend through the finish. Built to go the distance, it will also be eminently satisfying in its youth.
