July 5, 2023 - Part of a 9 syrah blind tasting. Held its own among some much pricier wines. Did not place in top 3 but got some votes. Dark fruits, nicely made, drinking beautifully after a 3 hour decant. Such a high quality affordable producer.

December 19, 2022 - Nose of eucalyptus, dark plum fruit, and rawhide. Focused palate drives black plum, black cherry, and dusty earth across the palate. Resolved tannins on the finish with dry red cherry and earth. This wine is elderly and subdued but well put together. I would recommend drinking in the short term.

August 29, 2022 - A textbook example of a prime Bedrock (one of the world’s best California producers) Syrah. Perfect drinking now but has the substance to last for many many years.

October 26, 2021 - inky with coffee infused notes. very dark riper fruits - aciidity and tannins are there, but am struggling to enjoy this. Galloni's review is spot on.

March 14, 2021 - Last tried this in 2015 & suggested waiting 5+ years. Well here we are in 2021 -- grabbed this after a 2005 Le Cailloux Centenaire was totally shot.

Color/App: still an opaque/inky purple core -> deep, fairly dense fuchsia/ruby rim. Bouquet note from last time still pretty much spot-on: creosote, charcoal, blackberries and plums. Packed palate full of black fruits (blackberries, black cherries) and charcoal along with what I think is still a decent amount of grippy, rustic tannins --though it has softened slightly over 5 years. Still waiting for this to open up and blossom (if it ever will). Still have to say I think the TnS bottling is the grand cru of the Syrah lineup at Bedrock.
