September 2, 2019 - A lovely example of Hunter semillon beginning to acquire the hallmark characteristics that showcase one of Australia’s most unique wines. The nose has the classic toast and lanolin emerging while the palate is pinpoint in marrying the lemon/lime fruit with quite precise and stunning acidity. Not having been a follower of this winery for some time, I purchased six bottles and have been rewarded with this regional winner.

A beautiful example of Hunter valley semillon
It has that lemon/lime zest but its not bitter or sour.
In fact the nose is slightly mineral and the wine on the tongue reminded me of those high class New Zealand Reislings with that green apple, slightly sweet flavour.
I wrote down some notes then referred back to the label and found that the results were the same.
You can't go wrong with these world class Semillons, they last and last and change character over the years and rarely disappoint.
All that for around the $30.00AU a bottle which seems to be the pricing sweet spot for these wines.
Grow and produce these any where else on the planet and you will be paying double for this quality.

3 years on a bottle was hiding in my cellar.
Turned to a beautiful soft style Semillon lemon-lime now being pushed into the background , darker golden colour and the nose is a fruit/floral bouquet.
    Just delightful drinking
