March 31, 2019 - Drank at a big wine dinner at Winvian. Decanted for and hour. This was the wine of the night, better than 98 Mouton and 98 Lafite and 04 Conterna Francina

November 22, 2018 - A perfect wine for a perfect Thanksgiving day. Young in colour, lovely nose, complex, beautifully integrated.
October 29, 2018 - Drank alongside the 1998, double decanted 3 hours ahead; accompanied pasta generously covered in slices of white truffle, ummmm.
As I have come to expect from this wine, a youthful appearance, dark core. Floral nose laced with dark fruit, tar and hints of earth. Perfect balance, silky texture, layers of rich fruit, wonderful finish, drinking very well.
The 1998 was a more closed, smaller scaled wine from a less opulent vintage, a solid Barolo which needs another 5-10 years in the cellar. I’d score it a 92-3 tonight.
October 27, 2018 - No detailed notes, except to say that the nose was explosive and the palate wasn't too shabby either. Probably couldn't have shown better than it did.

June 2, 2018 - 11mad - before 99 chave - great nose, lots of underbrush, truffles, Pinot...very delicate, subtle yet powerful at same time
May 1, 2018 - Very aromatic and full of ripe red fruit initially. Certainly very modernist but also not very characteristic of Barolo in many of the tasters opinions. The ripeness is accompanied by oak, vanilla, cigar, and herbs. With a couple hours of air, it becomes more Barolo-like with rose petals and tar. Perhaps more aging will move it more towards classic Barolo but the tannins are almost full resolves and the extraordinarily opulent nose is really enjoyable now. Definitely shows the ripeness of 1997.
