February 4, 2022 - Somehow this manages to come across as both reductive and oxidative at the same time, in (oddly) mostly enjoyable ways. Very intense concentration with lots of complexity unfolding, even if not perfectly harmonious. Barely changed when revisited/ finished 48 hours later.
July 31, 2013 - Just delicious. Wisps of Dageneau.
June 30, 2012 - drank this wine from a jero .. passion fruit, guava and some soft minerality. consensus was really makes u realize how good sauvignon blanc can be. delicious with oysters. Might have been best white we had out in bellport for the summer.
July 18, 2008 - i took my own advice, and drank our last bottle; i enjoyed it every time. strange wine, with little traditional typicity, unctious, almost oily.
July 4, 2008 - This wine is evolving. Some of the fruit is fading into the background but there's interesting spice and a hint of botrytis, which might be a characteristic of a bunch of the Scholium whites. There is still some guava on the palate and I notice a tiny bit of tart orange on the nose. Color is very light. Finish is moderately long. This is still an excellent wine, with no negative characteristics, but I liked it better last year. I have one bottle left and will try to hold it for a few years just to see what happens.
June 21, 2008 - still unique, but perhaps on the slide. despite it's enormous structure, three years is a long time for a SB. i say drink up.
June 13, 2008 - Not as "intense" as my last bottle. Maybe suffering from bottle shock as this was a recent shipment.
April 17, 2008 - We loved the minerality combined with tropical fruits, but the heat was overwhelming at times.
April 2, 2008 - melon, pineapple, nice full palate, good finish. the best of the scholiums tonight
April 2, 2008 - the only light in a dim portfolio, this always manages to be a good wine.
