November 5, 2023 - Oak was the first thing I wrote when reviewing this. Drying tannins. I'm sure there was fruit here but it was buried pretty deep. Short finish.

  • jmcmchi Does not like this wine:

    November 4, 2023 - Tasted blind

I was one of two who thought the nose horrible

Hot on palate, surprised to find what it was

July 4, 2023 - About 4 years ago I had this wine at a dinner party and really enjoyed (rated 95), but my opinion has changed. Upon opening, the nose of wet laundry or wet dirt was predominant, but some herbaceous sassafras notes are now coming through. As it opens, I get dark berry, flat cola, black coffee, a hint of black licorice, and the fruit is there, but restrained. There is still some tannin structure there, but it has diminished quite a lot. Okay, so here goes; perhaps that this wine is not aging well, like the rest of my QC portfolio, maybe you should consider drinking it sooner than later.

May 2, 2023 - Disappointing and definitely, below my expectations. Nothing much to say to describe this mediocre wine, except perhaps, that it wasn’t worth the price… Will stick to their Cabernet bottling, no more “Palengat” for me

February 18, 2023 - Decanted for an hour. Initial funk on the nose that blew off. Initially mildly astringent but this settled down and opened up very nicely. 59% merlot rest cab sauv. Dark fruit some leather. Excellent
