April 7, 2019 - Big bold wine but not over the top. Deep dark fruit, graphite, and cassis with eucalyptus on the moderately long finish. Tannins are big but not overwhelming. The alcohol is still a little noticeable but barely. Paired with a thick juicy rib eye and the wine just cut right through the fat creating a wonderful pairing. This is a great value.
Drinking very well now, but there is still years of life left here.

March 14, 2019 - Deep purple color. Peppery and red fruit to the nose. Full body with a long finish. Better on day 4. Ready now but I would wait more to get the full version of this wine which I think still holding back. Plenty of fruit still left.

February 26, 2019 - Didn't take notes - this was good over 3 nights, although this bottle had more heat noticeable on the finish (and alcohol noticeable on the nose)and this was very fruit dominant. Will formally rate next bottle.

February 7, 2019 - Fruit need some time to warm up as this initially comes off flat and one dimensional, but as the wine opens its flavor profile expands. Red fruit on the edge, dry and tannic. While not as exciting as many other vintages of this wine, still enjoyable but better with food than on its own.

January 11, 2019 - The wine is still in great shape. We decanted for an hour, and there is no hurry to drink it. I find this to be such a great QPR. This wine still tastes very young. Black and red fruits along with a hint of tobacco on the nose. There might even be a little sweetener on the end of the nose. Ripe red fruit on the palate with plenty of tannins.
