May 2, 2022 - Presented to me double-blind. The wine appears a deep burnished golden color with medium+ viscosity. Notes of baked apples, white flowers, chamomile minerals and a petrol thing. On the palate, medium+ acid. Confirming the fruit but the apples are spiced and there’s a slightly nutty, oxidized thing going. Alcohol seems elevated too. Loads of character. The color and oxidization suggested it was a combo of style and age; I figured 10-15 years. I vacillated between Alsatian Riesling GC or a Chenin from the Loire by a great producer. Ultimately, I called 2010 Savennières as it actually reminded me of Joly’s “Clos de la Bergerie”. LOL! Close!!! These Huet Sec’s age amazing 🥲.

February 5, 2022 - Over the hill, tea, acid. Flawed.

November 10, 2021 - "Imposter Night" (Los Olivos, CA): Darker in color and more advanced than I would have expected 8 years in, but still had a lot to offer, especially as the wine warmed up. Subdued but sufficient acid alongside balanced apple, apricot and lime, slightly oxidized. Best when enjoyed with manchego cheese.

July 4, 2021 - Popped three 2013 Secs in one afternoon and all of them were flawed. Sad.

March 12, 2021 - Dark golden colour. Oxidized and a bit rancid. Intact fruit, but a 2013 should not be like this. A bad batch?
