September 11, 2020 - Tasted over three days. At first, chocolate, liquorice, blackcurrant, a little raisin and hot alcohol. I found that a decant of more than an hour hurt it—the heat came forward as the fruit calmed down. Slow-ox was a different story. A few hours in the bottle brought everything into balance; 24 hours eased the medicinal qualities and made it feel classical; and on the third day it was glorious: all the above flavours settled, now with a touch of biscuit and maraschino cherry. If I had room at home, I’d buy a case.

August 7, 2020 - Winos. Very big Amarone, lots of flavor. Slight raisiny that was very tasty and appropriate.

February 9, 2020 - One of my absloute favorites regarding Amarone. Off course very powerful, but also more elegant than most, perfect for gruyere, parmesan and truffle honey. Drink or hold

January 1, 2018 - Yow. I've had perhaps a dozen Amarones, some great, some OK, some not go great. This is the best, by far. Layered flavors, endless finish. Seems very young, probably should have let it set for another five years. When a wine is this good, the "score" doesn't really mean much. It's just so damn good.

October 14, 2016 - Nose almost like a 30 year old Aussie red, reminiscent of aged meat soaked in diesel with a tinge of brass varnish. Strangely I dont mean that in a bad way. The palate for the first hour certainly is raisins; maybe with a little magnesium. After a couple of hours theres a note of coolant calming things with a lingering menthol.
