May 29, 2019 - PnP. Deep red w purple tones. Red and black berries on the nose with some spiciness and a touch of heat as well. Lovely depth of flavor on the palate with deep berry flavors and a long finish with some tannins which are well integrated but still there. Intense wine but well balanced. A bit clenched on the finish so could definitely go and perhaps improve for another 3-5 years.
January 3, 2019 - PNP. cork perfect. color dark ruby. nose has dark fruit and dominated by alcohol. swishing shows some acid and tannin structure, and the tannin is partly oak driven. finish is balanced and has some alcohol peeking out. sipping shows dense fruit and some rhubarb that covers the alcohol and structure. this is a very dense wine and has good balance. would stick to fatty foods to balance the alcohol otherwise this is very polished.
December 22, 2018 - This seems to be over the hill already. Very dark and broody, almost not pinot like. Not unpleasant, but not what I expected.

September 16, 2018 - Ripe plum, black cherry and cough syrup with dry forest flour, lit sweet cigar, garden soil and licorice on the nose. The mouth explodes with tart cherry and mixed dark berry with strong tea, pipe tobacco, cracked black pepper and biscuit dough.
Bigger then I like, riper then I like, but way, way more to like.
March 26, 2018 - Same, same, same. Previous notes apply. I’m about as excited as I’ve been previously about this wine, which is not much... likely even less so this time around. It has some saturated black cherry and subtle earth flavors that play make-believe with your tastebuds, but complexity is ultimately weak and delivery is flat. Medium bodied mid-palate, but the finish is over before it even starts.
Drink now before it becomes so soft that it’s grip will be worse than an infant with tendinitis.
March 4, 2018 - Impressive wine. Black cherries, licorice, spice, floral, and a hint of smoke in the nose. Plums, blueberries, and some earthiness and spice in the flavor. Medium to full body and a long finish. Went perfectly with grilled pork chops!
December 8, 2017 - Same as last month's notes. Drink now as a PnP, or hold for another year with confidence.
November 21, 2017 - Same as previous notes. This still hangs out in the 91-93 point arena for me. At its best (about 30 minutes of air), it displayed some nice saturated raspberry and spice notes. Good to drink now with a little air, and possibly some upside in a year.
September 13, 2017 - This was much better day 2 corked and stored half bottle so I say give it another 3-4 years for max enjoyment.
