December 19, 2023 - Very unremarkable, with limited secondary notes and fairly unimpressive primary notes relative to many excellent Brunellos in this price range. Terrible value.

November 25, 2023 - Coming back to this after a year. Opened for 2 hours. On the nose: Cherry, rose, tar and forest floor. On the palate: Cherry, tar, rose, baking spices and mushroom. Elegant but seems a bit closed down at the moment.

November 15, 2023 - This was a fantastic wine, complex, with a long finish, tannins were integrated nicely, not sure about the length of the drinking window, good drinking now.

October 24, 2023 - 2013 Brunello 'ten years on' masterclass at 67 pall mall (67PM): Crikey! Medium/dark ruby. Odd nose; dark fruits and almost something carbonic (though of course none of that went on). I really wouldn't have guessed that this was a Brunello if given it blind. Almost reminiscent of a pretty old and grand LB bordeaux from a cool year: there's so much oak and sweetness, and a much darker fruit profile than I associate with sangiovese. It's good through despite it's atypicality - I suspect I'd rate it higher if I was given this blind.

June 22, 2023 - Very disappointing, basically nothing there. I don’t think it was spoiled, however little to no fruit and color was off. I did give it about two hours to come around in our glasses before we gave up. My experience with Valdicava has not been very positive. And I thought I loved Brunello?

As this bottle was opened with a Coravin, we will revisit this weekend to see if there’s any difference.
