April 20, 2012 - No formal notes. Decanted briefly off its sediment and rebottled. Consumed over the course of five hours. Has held up very well, still with a deep color and aromas of white pepper, dark fruit and spice. Nice fruit remains on the palate; finishes well.
December 10, 2011 - Cranberry red color. Subtle note of raisin with red fruit and perfumed floral qualities. Peppery red fruit on the palate. 89-90 pts.
March 30, 2011 - Nice deep color with notes of brambly dark fruit, raspberry and violets expand to include meat, florals and licorice aromas. Medium boded, with good acidity and flavors of black cherry, clove, pepper and dark fruit. In a really good place right now.
November 28, 2009 - Formal notes not taken...paired well with TDay.
October 18, 2009 - The Blind Drunks monthly tasting (Our house): Garnet color. Aromas of plummy dark fruit and spices. Flavors of spice, plum, dark fruit and leather. Nicely balanced with decent underlying acidity.
September 30, 2009 - Talk about tons of boysenberry.... Still full bodied fruit bomb. Has another year or 2 of life...
July 25, 2009 - Damn good. I wish I had more of these, but this last bottle was definitely savored. Blueberry pie, plum, cedar. Excellent balance. This is a fully-extracted wine, so some might think it a little over the top. Delicious. Drink or hold (2-3 yr).
June 6, 2009 - Opened with a stewed tomato aroma which eventually blew off leaving dark fruit and subtle spice notes, along with a smoky undertone. Nice balance, with dusty fruit.
January 19, 2009 - Last bottle. Popped and poured. Similar notes to previous bottles with a return of the blueberry. Seems to be holding, but certainly not improving. Drink up.
December 7, 2008 - Decanted for about 1 hour. Bark ruby to purple color. Nose of dark berries, spice and some brown sugar, flavors of brambly dark fruit on the attack, supported by some pepper and baking spice and a nice caramel tinged finish. Very tasty.
