July 20, 2019 - Tobacco, plentiful black and blue fruits, and quite sweet on the pallet (15% alcohol). This was our first Clos Mogador, and overall I would have to say we were a bit underwhelmed. Perhaps we we drinking it a bit too young? No question it can age for many more years. For tonight, it was certainly good with no notable flaws, but overall not terribly memorable. We will hold our remaining bottle for a few more years.
June 15, 2019 - Matt, Bella and I tasted this on the Isles of Scilly. A big, powerful wine reminiscent of a top Gigondas or quality CdP. All over the place on opening, but lovely after 45 minutes in the glass, and pretty profound on day 2, with fruit cake (a hint of sherry?) an array of flavours and great length. Went well with various hard cheeses. Leave for 2-3 years or a long decant.
May 24, 2019 - Wow. My interpretation of Dornish wine. Drank during the GOT finale. Way better than the show. Decanted for an hour. Would rate this at 93 now. But it will definitely be better in a 2-3 years.
May 13, 2019 - Weekly tasting group RWP #330; Spain; Priorat, Rioja or Ribeira del Duero (@ JdB): In the bouquet dark berries. On the palate ripe dark berries and quite mature impressions. no score.
April 20, 2019 - Wow, what a wine! Mature with well rounded acidity but still lots of vital fruit. Dark fruits, plum and som spices. Pity it’s the last bottle of 2012
March 23, 2019 - Wow, vilken fullständig smakexplosion! Kryddigt, fruktigt och perfekt balans. 2012, ungt i smaken men otroligt piggt och drickvänligt.
January 2, 2019 - Rich berries on the nose, cough syrup, oaky. Grippy medium grained tannin, some heat showing on the back end. Very ripe fruits, this probably has the stuffing to age, but felt a tad disjointed at this time. Would like to revisit in 5+ years.
December 24, 2018 - Beautiful texture and right amount of fruit but needs a lot of time. Built to last. A long aging mogador for sure
November 9, 2018 - Finished with an uplifting fragrance. Did not decant but maybe better decant for 30min. Medium body. Refined tanin. Taste of red fruit
