March 26, 2018 - Incredibly full bodied Pinot. Dark, red, much darker than typical Pinot and more ripe red fruit rather than the more slightly tart fruits. Enjoyed very much.

March 14, 2015 - These are best enjoyed when thinking outside the box of typical Cali Pinot. Big, jammy and extracted. Signature Wagner style. Red, blue and black fruit medley. Slight pepper/spice on the back end, but easy to enjoy if you understand it’s more about enjoyment than critiquing as a true Cali representation of Pinot noir.

February 22, 2015 - Opaque and dark. It smells like cloves and cedar. It is so smooth with a little burn to it and a peppery flavor. May not be worth the price we paid for it, but it's a nice special wine for a special occasion. We had it with a delicious steak dinner.

January 10, 2015 - a couple of years needed - too young. red rspberry, cola, big pinot. seemed a little hot though but well balanced. Had with grilled NY strip steak and it stood up well.

November 27, 2014 - This is definitely a heavy pinot noir, but it IS still a pinot noir. If you're not a cab or zin fan, and only prefer the light pinot styles, I'd recommend you look elsewhere.

It is an interesting wine, though. Still needs some time in the bottle. Probably still a year or two early on this one.

If you're complaining that this isn't a traditional pinot noir, I'd agree with you, but you should get over yourself. It's a good wine for some people, which can be said about just any kind of wine. For the record, I do have a cellar full of very expensive, bloody cabs, so it's interesting to enjoy a different take on this grape.

If you're so snobby that you can only stick to traditional styles, I hope you don't drink anything from the west coast of US. Get over yourself and understand that the grape, not the style, determines the label. I've had some weak and bitter cabs... Wouldn't buy them again, but I can respect the effort.

November 8, 2014 - Very nice finish; a bit young (2013) but very robust and delicate despite the age.
